2020 - An Unexpected Year

Hello folks!

I know it's been way too long since my last post on here. But I wasn't really in the mood for blogging and had not the right words.
I hope you all are doing well this year that's obviously a bloody mess. I mean 2020 should have been the year of the roaring 20s with lots of fun, achievements, changes, a better year. But instead it got worse.
We've a global pandemic due to Covid-19, thousands of death, political chaos, lockdowns, Brexit, police brutality and murders, #BlackLivesMatter protests, still not enough equality for Trans-People or the LGBTQ+ community... As I said a complete mess.


I had lot's of plans at the beginning of the year, but now it's just work that went on like normal even in the lockdown phase we had here in Germany. Since our company is delivering food, we had a huge chaos and then a huge gab in the deliveries. 
My job sucks like usual, I've got more and more work. Was out of a job in hospital for a few weeks since my job wasn't a necessity. But the break was much appreciated. 

Work at hospital (my 2nd job) is going very well. I've been back since the beginning of July. Measurements for our safety are higher than usual but I'm very calm when I'm there compared to being in my main job with my idiot colleagues endangering us all by not wearing a mask, going on holidays in problematic areas and hanging out with a lot of people.

Will work 7-days-a-week from Monday (17th August) on and I know it's going to be hard, but I really do need the money.
I had some damage on my car the last month. First a truck tossed a stone on my windshield and then some hail damage while at work (yes my main one). Insurance covers all of it, but I still have to pay 150€ myself. Money I don't have. Also I needed a new phone because my old one broke down more often so I got myself one a few days ago in my one-week-holiday.
Thankfully I got some taxes back and got the extra work on Sunday now so things will be a bit easier again.

While I had time off in hospital, I relaxed a bit, read a lot and started writing more and more. 
I read some fantastic books. All one's of the Gabriels Inferno series by Sylvain Reynard, the last two books of the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day and her new novella "Butterfly in Frost". Yes I was a bit captured in the genre romance/erotic novels. Started to read to finish some books I had started a while ago (crime novels,YA fantasy) but since I'm back working there's not too much time left again. So I'm trying to separate my time in reading and writing.

Had coffee with a friend today (safety measures ensured) and it was lovely. Event though with the heatwave we currently have. It's boiling and I don't know what to do to anymore to not melt completely. It cooled down a tiny bit the last two days because of a bit of rain but temperatures are up to 30C again. I'm so ready for autumn though and can't wait for rain, cold, sunny cool days, leaves falling... 
Are you guys too? Or do you love summer and the current heatwave?

All that's going on in the world right now is concerning and I'm really worried about the future. Global warming is insane and way too quick, the #BlackLivesMatter protests and demos for LGBTQ+ folks shouldn't even happening. It should be normal for every single human to be equal despite their gender, colour of skin or sexual orientation. It's insane that we do have such a thing as police brutality. I mean come on it's 2020! We should be more modern these days and not this judgmental, racist etc... 

To all my American folks reading this: TRUMP HAS TO GO! 
This guy's a lunatic! So please do yourself a favor and go VOTE and please notice the voting date folks. Apparently there has been a change to October? 

So enough for now. Just my usual promise that I truly try to update more often.

[book-review] Robert Galbraith - The Silkworm
